Following TRA's change to the new DoTS system at the start of 2025 and the release of a full year of data for the regions, the dashboard now shows a regional breakdown for 2025.
Domestic and total spend cannot be reliably reported prior to 2025 and are therefore only shown for 2025. See the Tourism Research Australia website for more info on the methodology change.
The 2024 fact sheets are based on the National Visitor Survey and will be updated shortly with data from DoTS.
Australia's South West Factsheet
Take an in-depth look at who’s visiting Australia’s South West in our latest regional factsheet. Updated annually, the factsheet shows the number of overnight visitors, where they come from, how much they spend, their purpose of visit, length of stay, and other key insights.
Local Government Area and Sub Region Fact Sheets
For a more comprehensive break down of visitor statistics within Australia's South West, Tourism WA has created fact sheets for key Local Government Area (LGA) and Sub Region in the area. Updated each calendar year, the fact sheets include information on visitor numbers to each area, how long they stay, where they travelled from and how much they typically spend. Each factsheet is based on data from Tourism Research Australia, who publish visitor statistics for every Australia LGA. Not all factsheets have been updated for 2025. When further data is available, the remainder will be added.
Regional Development Commission Fact Sheets
Beyond our five main tourism regions, Tourism WA has also developed insights into the Regional Development Commissions across Western Australia. Each factsheet includes information on visitor numbers, where these visitors come from, how much they spend and more destination insights. Updated each calendar year, the factsheets are based on data from Tourism Research Australia's National and International Visitor Surveys.
