Discover more about Australia‘s South West

Australia’s South West is one of the most well-known regions within Western Australia, thanks to its world-class surf breaks, beautiful vineyards, towering forests and gourmet food offerings.

Encompassing the Bunbury Geographe, Margaret River, Southern Forests and Valleys, and Great Southern regions, Australia’s South West is a much-loved destination for locals and out-of-state visitors.

Learn more about Australia’s South West’s tourism sector through our latest visitor statistics and insights, including fact sheets for key Local Government Areas and Regional Development Commissions.

Following TRA's change to the new DoTS system at the start of 2025 and the release of a full year of data for the regions, the dashboard now shows a regional breakdown for 2025.

Domestic and total spend cannot be reliably reported prior to 2025 and are therefore only shown for 2025. See the Tourism Research Australia website for more info on the methodology change.

The 2024 fact sheets are based on the National Visitor Survey and will be updated shortly with data from DoTS.
