Showcasing regional Western Australia
Regional events play an important role in attracting visitors, increasing visitor spending and showcasing the unique experiences available across regional Western Australia.
Funded by the Western Australian Government through Tourism WA and Royalties for Regions, the Regional Events Program supports established and strategic events that deliver strong tourism outcomes and contribute to vibrant regional communities. Eligible events may receive more than $40,000 in sponsorship funding.
The program is designed to support events that increase visitation, particularly during shoulder and off-peak periods, raise the profile of regional destinations and create lasting benefits for local communities.
Applying for sponsorship funding
Event organisers are encouraged to review the program guidelines to understand the funding objectives, eligibility requirements and assessment criteria.
Event organisers should then complete the Event Funding Eligibility Assessment Form. Eligible submissions will be reviewed by Tourism WA and, where appropriate, applicants will be invited to submit a detailed proposal for assessment.
To allow sufficient time for assessment and consideration, detailed event proposals should be submitted at least 12 months before the event date.
