Events are a key tourism driver for Western Australia. They attract visitors, generate visitor spending, support local businesses and help showcase our destinations to new audiences. From major sporting and cultural events to regional community celebrations, events contribute to vibrant communities and a strong visitor economy across the State. 

Tourism WA supports events through sponsorship funding, promotional opportunities and industry resources. We work with event organisers to attract visitors, encourage travel throughout Western Australia and strengthen the State's reputation as a leading events destination. Our approach is guided by Tourism WA's strategic priorities and the Western Australia Visitor Economy Strategy 2033.

Event funding opportunities

Event promotion

Tourism WA offers several free opportunities to help promote events. Event organisers can submit an event listing through the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) for promotion on westernaustralia.com and other tourism websites. Organisers can also access the Tourism WA Image Library for promotional images, videos and digital assets. In addition, media releases can be submitted to media@westernaustralia.com for consideration across its national and international media channels, and social media content may be reshared when tagged with @westernaustralia and #WAtheDreamState.
