Covering the Perth metropolitan area, Peel region, Fremantle and the historic Swan Valley, Destination Perth is where most of our out-of-state visitors begin their dream holiday in Western Australia.
Our most popular destination, the region is the home of blockbuster events thanks to Optus Stadium and other major events infrastructure. It’s also the gateway to the idyllic island paradise of Rottnest Island and the world’s friendliest animal, the quokka.
Learn more about Destination Perth’s tourism sector through our latest visitor statistics and insights, including fact sheets for key Local Government Areas and Regional Development Commissions.
Following TRA's change to the new DoTS system at the start of 2025 and the release of a full year of data for the regions, the dashboard now shows a regional breakdown for 2025.
Domestic and total spend cannot be reliably reported prior to 2025 and are therefore only shown for 2025. See the Tourism Research Australia website for more info on the methodology change.
The 2024 fact sheets are based on the National Visitor Survey and will be updated shortly with data from DoTS.
