Tourism WA is inviting proposals from experienced charter coach operators to establish a long-term regional base in Albany and deliver services across the Great Southern.

The opportunity is supported by a $1 million contribution from the WA Government, funded through Royalties for Regions and administered by Tourism WA.

The funding will be provided over an agreed milestone schedule to support the successful proponent’s establishment and long-term viability in the region.

The proponent will be required to deliver services that support tourism and the broader community, including cruise tourism, regional events and connectivity across the Great Southern.

The initiative will help strengthen the region’s visitor economy by improving transport access, supporting local jobs and creating opportunities for business growth.

The Request for Proposal will be available through Tenders WA, with a seven-week submission period to allow operators time to develop detailed proposals.

Tourism is Western Australia’s fifth largest employing industry, with more than two in five tourism jobs based in regional areas. Visitors spent $6.2 billion across regional Western Australia in the year to March 2026.
