Applications are now open for Tourism WA’s 2027-28 Regional Events Scheme, with an increased total funding pool of up to $1.4 million available to support regional events across Western Australia.
Co-funded by Tourism Western Australia and Royalties for Regions, the annual funding program supports smaller and developing regional events that attract new visitors, encourage regional dispersal and deliver economic benefits to regional communities.
Event organisers can apply for funding between $5,000 and $40,000 for events held in regional WA from 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2028. Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 24 July 2026.
The 2027-28 funding pool includes $250,000 dedicated to the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme (RAES), which supports events that showcase and celebrate Aboriginal activities and experiences.
Regional events play an important role in the WA Government’s economic diversification strategy by driving visitation, supporting local businesses and creating jobs throughout regional Western Australia.
In its 20th year, the 2026-27 Regional Events Scheme will see64 regional events supported with a total $1 million in funding. Recipients include established events such as the Dwellingup 100 and South West Japan Festival, as well as first-time recipients including Cuby GrooveFest and Wild Gravel.
The 2026-27 funding round also includes support for seven events through the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme, including Raised in Big Spirit Country and Bunuru Festival.
