2018 events


Tourism Council WA 2018 training workshops
Tourism Council WA is delivering a range of its industry-relevant training workshops in Margaret River, Bunbury, Perth, Shark Bay, Kalgoorlie and Esperance over the next few months. These workshops cover a variety of industry-relevant topics, including digital marketing and social media, customer service, tourism boost (introduction to tourism), media and public relations, and China ready. February 18-20
Asia Pacific Incentives Meetings Event | Melbourne, Australia
AIME is the leading trade event for the meetings and event industry in the Asia Pacific region.  AIME is when industry decision makers connect, create and do business across the whole Asia Pacific region.

February 25-27
Walkabout Japan | Kofu, Japan
alkabout Japan is the premier trade event for Australian tourism products and services to engage with key Japanese travel companies. An estimated 35 key Japanese buyers will include a mix of wholesale planners, group sales, media sales, FIT sections in major agencies, local travel agencies, OTAs and land operators from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. Buyer and seller applications are now open. 

MARCH

March 1
The Australian Tourism Awards are the tourism industry’s peak Awards – recognising and promoting excellence in tourism. A wide and diverse range of tourism businesses enter their state and territory Tourism Awards, with more than 200 becoming a national finalist. Winners from these finalists are announced at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards Ceremony.

March 6-10
This event brings together prominent people from the tourism industry to network, negotiate and do business. In 2018, ITB hosted 10,000 exhibitors and 196,000 visitors of which 120,000 were trade. Overall, more than 185 countries were represented. ITB 2019 is a five-day event, open to trade and consumers. Tourism Australia will have an exclusive stand at ITB Berlin and invites the industry to participate as stand partners.

APRIL
April 8-12
ATE19  | Perth
The Australian Tourism Exchange will take place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in April, 2019. ATE  is Australia’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event, bringing together Australian tourism businesses, and tourism wholesalers and retailers, from around the world through a combination of scheduled business appointments and networking events. It will also give the international travel trade a chance to experience WA first-hand through the extensive familiarisation (famils) program run by Tourism WA.
