Ways we support Tourism Experience Development in WA

National Park Tourism Experiences Development
Our National Park Tourism Experiences Development (NPTED) Program is aiming to achieve density and diversity of high quality, environmentally conscious and culturally sensitive tourism experiences in and around national parks. Through the NPTED Program, Tourism WA is delivering activity that:

  • encourages private eco lodge/retreat/unique accommodation offerings in high visitation national parks;
  • facilitates new tourism experiences that activate national parks visitation;
  • creates density and diversity of tourism products throughout the state by engaging and building capacity within the tourism industry;
  • undertakes demand and feasibility assessments and land assembly works;
  • assists with business case development, progression of approval, and community consultation;
  • assists private sector operators through the various stages of planning and development of new tourism experiences and assets activating national parks; and
  • enhances tourism experience development activities by providing development workshops, tools and one-on-one coaching for tourism operators.

We have a team of passionate and experienced Tourism Experience Development Managers throughout WA. Our Tourism Experience Development Managers are based in Albany, Bunbury, Exmouth, Geraldton, Karratha and Perth and are available to assist current and potential tourism operators, where their plans align to the objectives of the National Park Tourism Experiences Development Program.
