Quality Tourism Accreditation signifies that a tourism business has made a commitment to exceeding customer expectations through best practice in service, safety, insurance, advertising practices, risk management and business operations. Adopted by more than 4,500 tourism businesses across Australia, Quality Tourism Accreditation is recognised by Tourism WA for listing on westernaustralia.com. Accreditation provides businesses with complimentary tools and resources to enhance your tourism experience including ReviewPro reputation management and exemption from liquor licensing.


Sustainable Tourism Accreditation is the Australian tourism industry’s largest and longest-running sustainability program. Western Australia is leading the way as a sustainable tourism destination with more than 1,200 accredited businesses. Sustainable Tourism Accreditation incorporates sustainability across environmental, cultural, social and commercial business practices and is recognised by the WA Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for tourism operators in National Parks and marine parks. 



The Tourism Emissions Reduction Program enables tourism operators to undertake an online emissions assessment and develop a tailored emissions reduction plan which can be published on their website to demonstrate their commitment to improving their sustainability.



Accessible Tourism program provides businesses with a comprehensive online accessibility assessment and official Accessibility Information guide for visitors. Businesses meeting essential criteria are recognised for accessibility in areas of cognitive/autism; limited mobility; low hearing; low vision; wheelchairs and scooters.



EcoStar Accreditation is for tourism businesses that demonstrate the highest level of environmental management over and above Sustainable Tourism requirements. EcoStar Accreditation assists businesses in achieving environmental sustainability whilst developing and promoting true Eco Tourism experiences. EcoStar Accreditation is recognised by the WA Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for long-term tourism licences and leases in National Parks and marine parks.



Star Ratings are an internationally recognised symbol for quality accommodation standards. They are used in more than 70 countries worldwide and reflect the cleanliness, quality and condition of guest facilities. A Star Rating represents the quality, condition and cleanliness of guest facilities at the time of an independent property review.



Marine Tourism Accreditation recognises businesses meeting the WA Marine Tour Operators Best Practice Standards. By becoming Marine Tourism Accredited, businesses have demonstrated a commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct operating in Western Australia's pristine marine environment. Marine Tourism Accreditation was developed in conjunction with the WA Department of Fisheries.




​The Visitor Centre Accreditation Program raises the standards of information services provided to visitors to the State. Visitor centres that display the yellow on blue italicised 'i' sign have achieved certain quality standards in their service provision and operational systems.


 

Ecotourism Australia is a not-for-profit organisation focused on environmentally sustainable and culturally responsible tourism. It delivers certification programs for tourism products and destinations to ensure quality experiences follow ecotourism principles.
