We commissioned TRC Tourism to investigate management options for a growing cruise sector along the Kimberley coast.
The study was undertaken in 2013 as part of the Kimberley Science and Conservation Strategy, and in recognition of the coast and its importance to the Kimberley as one of Australia’s National Landscapes. It was jointly funded by the State and Australian governments.
The study assesses the need for additional tourism infrastructure on the Kimberley coast and examines the potential of introducing a permit system and access fees for cruise operators landing on shore.
