Frequently asked questions about who we are and what we do.

What does Tourism WA do?

We are the State Government agency charged with promoting Western Australia as an incredible holiday and events destination. Our job is to inspire more people to visit WA from Australia and around the world. We do this by marketing the State to the world through innovative campaigns; developing, attracting and promoting major sporting, arts, cultural and business events; and working with government and the tourism industry to improve access, accommodation and tourism experiences for our visitors. For more information see About us.

How can Tourism WA help me with my tourism business?

We don’t help individual tourism businesses but we have a number of partners and programs that can help you to develop and market your tourism business.  For more information see Resources for businesses and operators.

What do I do if I have a problem while I am on holiday in WA?

We are not a regulatory body so we can't investigate complaints against tourism operators. See our Feedback section for contact details of organisations that can help you.

Where can I find information about working at Tourism WA?

Tourism is an exciting industry to work in. All of our job opportunities at Tourism WA are advertised on the WA Government Jobs Board. For information about jobs in the wider tourism industry go to Working in tourism.

What are the roles of other tourism organisations?

The tourism industry can be very confusing, especially when trying to work out who does what and why. Visit Who’s who in tourism to find out all about the major players in WA’s tourism industry and how they can help you.
