The 'Do it in WA' campaign  has been paused for now. When the time is right we will encourage West Australians to holiday in WA and support local tourism as it deals with the impacts of the coronavirus outbreak.

2020 has started out tough for the tourism industry with the outbreak of the coronavirus and bushfires. Tourism Western Australia has responded by launching its biggest intrastate tourism campaign - Do it in WA - to encourage short lead bookings and immediacy for West Aussies to explore their own backyard.

The campaign will be integrated across channels such as digital, video, print, out-of-home and social advertising around the State. The campaign will feature road trip itineraries and compelling experiences to entice passionate locals to explore WA or extend their holiday in the State.

Tourism WA is working with the Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) and Tourism Council WA to deliver some of the best packages and offers available, to encourage locals to holiday in WA and book direct with industry partners.

The campaign will be have a significant social media focus in which local advocates are encouraged to share their #DoitinWA adventures.

The campaign will:

  • Target WA residents planning a holiday this year
  • Drive immediate visitation
  • Promote compelling nature, urban and food experiences that are worth travelling for
  • Encourage visitors to #DoitinWA and book direct with industry

Industry Toolkit

Tourism WA has created an Industry Toolkit that details how to get involved when the campaign is relaunched. Opportunities will include:

  • Sharing #DoitinWA experiences on social media
  • Providing an offer through your RTO or Tourism Council WA
  • Downloading the campaign icon and adding it to marketing materials
  • Sharing regional holiday planners with guests to drive longer stays and more spend
