Our domestic marketing campaigns have been put on hold in light of the current travel restrictions and flight cancellations. We will closely monitor the local and global situation and reactivate marketing when the time is right.

Tourism WA’s 2020 AFL marketing campaign launched on February 17, 2020.

The campaign ran in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia, encouraging AFL fans to head west for their team to experience the award-winning Optus Stadium and to play on in Perth.

The objective of the campaign was to drive visitation and continue awareness and consideration of Perth as an AFL tourism destination.

Matthew Richardson, former AFL player for Richmond and 7AFL commentator, joined Abbey Holmes, AFLW player and media personality, as the faces of AFL in Perth.

The integrated campaign targeted a highly relevant audience of passionate AFL fans, across a mix of television, social and digital channels. Complementing this, bespoke campaigns with individual clubs encouraged their loyal members to travel with their team to Perth for the ultimate AFL getaway.
