COVID safe events

Please refer to the current directions related to prohibited gatherings, restriction of activities and closure of affected places.

The current Closure and Restriction (Limit the Spread) Direction (no.10) requires all events with more than 500 patrons to develop an approved COVID Event Plan and register the event with the Department of Health in order to proceed.

The Department of Health has also reviewed the COVID Event Plan approval process for high risk events. This information is relevant for all event organisers and local governments. In summary:

  • High risk COVID Event Plans must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the event being held.
  • Each COVID Event Plan will be reviewed by the Department of Health a maximum of two times.
  • The outcome of the review will be in the form of approved or rejected.

For more information visit the Department of Health website.

Event holders of Tourism WA-sponsored events should ensure that their Risk Management Plans are assessing and managing the impact of coronavirus on their events. Event holders are asked to please contact Tourism WA prior to any potential variation, postponement or cancellation of scheduled events.
