The Small Business Development Corporation is providing regular updated information to help businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can also call the corporation on 133 140 for advice to cope with business disruption.

Australian Government business hotline

The Australian Government's business.gov.au is providing a business hotline for small and medium businesses impacted by COVID-19. The contact centre can be reached at 13 28 46 and will run seven days a week. The website also contains information on business support, as well as contacts.

Australian Financial Security Authority

The Australian Financial Security Authority recently made changes to the Commonwealth bankruptcy law to provide immediate relief to people facing financial difficulty due to the impacts of COVID-19. Visit the AFSA website for information on temporary debt relief, temporary debt protection, changes to bankruptcy notices and impacts to people who are currently bankrupt as well as the contact details for the National Service Centre.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission

Small businesses can access advice from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission about their rights and obligations under the Australian Consumer Law  when dealing with refunds and cancellations due to COVID-19.

The Australian Banking Association has put together information for businesses about dealing with financial hardship.

Treasury has published fact sheets on the Economic Response to the Coronavirus.

Tourism Council WA 

 Tourism Council WA has launched a COVID-19 Business Recovery Tool to help businesses identify strategies on how they will respond to various stages of COVID-19 restrictions being lifted. Australian Tourism Export Council

The Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) is running a Road to Recovery tourism tutorial series – a program designed to provide the tourism industry with tools to bounce back after the impacts of COVID-19.  The tutorials are run in addition to ATEC’s Build Back Better industry webinar series, which provides insights from panellists who discuss a range of industry-relevant topics and challenges. For more information visit the ATEC website.

AHA Hospitality and Tourism COVID-19 Hygiene Course

WA's hospitality industry is being prepared for a return to business with the launch of a COVID-19 hygiene training program to protect the public and venue staff. The initiative ensures strong COVID-19 protections will be in place when restrictions are eased in the future. For more information, go to the Australian Hotels Association WA website.

COVID Safety Plans

The State Government has introduced COVID Safety Plans for businesses that are re-opening or broadening their business model. The plans will help ensure businesses actively mitigate the risks of COVID-19 in line with the best available health advice. View the COVID Safety Guidelines here

NCCC online planning tool

The National COVID-19 Coordination Commission (NCCC) has launched an online planning tool to help businesses develop a plan to keep their workers, customers and the community safe as they reopen or increase their activities in the weeks and months ahead.
