Frequently asked questions related to research.

I’m after the latest visitor statistics for Western Australia – where should I look?

The most recent visitor statistics available are provided on our visitor statistics page, which is updated every three months.

Where can I find visitor statistics for a specific region of Western Australia?

Visitation estimates are based on Tourism Research Australia’s International and National Visitor Surveys (IVS and NVS). These surveys are designed to estimate visitation to Australia and to the States/Territories, hence estimating visitation to areas smaller than this is challenging due to small sample incidence and decreased reliability of the data. Where sample size permits, we publish tourism region and small area fact sheets.

Where can I find details about visitors to Western Australia – where they come from, what activities they participate in etc.?

Our domestic visitor profiles and international market profiles provide an in-depth look at visitors to the State.
