Together with the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC), we commissioned research into the social and economic impacts of Aboriginal tourism businesses in WA.
The research showed that WA’s Aboriginal tourism businesses made a significant contribution to our economy in 2021-22, adding $63.8 million to the Gross State Product. It also focused on the social benefits that Aboriginal tourism presents, such as employment, strengthening pride and bringing different cultures together.
