​Tourism WA sponsors a diverse range of major sporting, arts, cultural and culinary events across the State.

Events are a critical part of our strategy to increase the value of tourism to $12 billion by 2020. They offer people a time-based reason to visit WA and encourage them to stay longer. They also add vibrancy, provide a boost to the economy and attract valuable national and international media coverage for Western Australia.

The new 60,000-seat Perth Stadium will be a real game changer for the State when it opens in early 2018.

Tourism WA has been given $19 million over three years to activate the stadium by securing major blockbuster events, with the State of Origin 2019 already announced, and more major sporting announcements to come.  The completion of the Perth Stadium will open up even more opportunities for international events and associated visitation and exposure for Western Australia.

Bledisloe Cup 2019

One of the biggest rivalries in world sport is coming to Perth Stadium in August 2019 when Western Australia hosts its first ever Bledisloe Cup match.

Chelsea Football Club match

Premier League powerhouse Chelsea is heading to Western Australia for an international friendly match against Perth Glory at the new Perth Stadium.

State of Origin

Australia’s biggest sporting event – the Rugby League State of Origin series – is coming to Perth Stadium in 2019.

The World Super 6 Perth is a new format of international golf tournament that will be held at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
