Visitor Servicing Study

The Visitor Servicing Study outlines the way forward to best serve the information needs of the state's domestic and international visitors.

Tourism is worth $4.2 billion to the Western Australian economy and visitor servicing is a vital part of that industry. While tourism marketing attracts more people to our unique state, it is visitor servicing that ensures visitors see more, do more, spend more and have the best possible experiences in WA. Visitor servicing also gives the widely diverse communities of Western Australia an opportunity to share and be proud of the special places they build and protect.

Visitor Centres are at the forefront of visitor servicing. The quality and standards of service delivery have steadily grown and this study has capitalised on that increasing professionalism as well as Visitor Centres' long standing passion and dedication to servicing visitors.

The recommendations in this report are well founded and realistic. They are the result of targeted research and extensive consultation with Visitor Centres, Local Government, state agencies and the tourism industry. Not least, this study presents a comprehensive picture of what visitors want and expect from the visitor servicing industry.

Moving forward will require commitment and action by all stakeholders. I urge you to read the study and assist with the task of making good visitor servicing even better in WA.
