Latest Intrastate Findings

In the year ending March 2008:

  • Intrastate spend in WA was over $2.2 billion, a 7.0% increase on year ending March 2008.
  • West Australians took over 5 million trips in their own state.

Latest Interstate Findings

In the year ending March 2008:  

  • Interstate visitors spent over $1.1 billion in WA, a -9.1% decrease on year ending March 2008 figures.
  • The number of Interstate visitors to WA was over 1.2 million, a -3.2% decrease on year ending March 2008 figures.

Latest International FindingsGroup walking through the vines at Amberley Estate

International spend, visitors and nights both reached record highs and grew above the national average in year ending March 2008.

  • International visitors to Western Australia spent over $1.6 billion in the year ending March 2008, up 17.0% from the same time last year.
  • The United Kingdom, Singapore and Malaysia were the top three spending international markets into Western Australia for the 12 months ending March 2008.
