Experience Perth

Perth has all the essential ingredients for a great holiday. Some of the country's best beaches, plenty of nightlife, bustling markets, inner city parks, outdoor dining and amazing marine adventures.

The 'Experience Perth' region centres on Western Australia's capital of Perth, which sits beside the widest stretch of the meandering Swan River.

Locals here enjoy a relaxed outdoors lifestyle, as does the neighbouring port city of Fremantle, at the mouth of the Swan.

Nearer to nature is a program run by the Department of Conservation and Land Management to encourage us to go exploring in and around Perth’s natural areas.

Perth Hills

There is something rather therapeutic about a trip to the Perth Hills. Winding through the Darling Range, a glance back at the skyline confirms your distance from the city and, almost miraculously, tensions drain away.

Perth summer holiday

Reclining with my sandy feet on the open window frame of a beachside bar along the coast of Perth, I sip a glass of cool local wine and indulge in one of the world’s truly most magnificent views.

Farmstay country

Spring is a great time to head beyond the Perth hills and experience wildflowers, some interesting natural attractions and the country style hospitality of farm stay accommodation.

Swan Valley

Only 25 minutes from the Perth CBD and 10 minutes from the domestic airport, the Swan Valley is the oldest, most visited wine region in the state.

Kangaroo Dreaming Trail

The haunting tones of a lone didgeridoo weave through the gum trees and up into the warm evening air as the moon rises majestically over hilltops. Aboriginal dancers spring into life around a fire which crackles and flares.

While Aboriginal tourism is often associated with WA’s outback regions, Perth and surrounding areas are rich in ancient heritage and culture.
