Tourism accreditation aims to enhance the quality of tourism businesses and improve industry standards. Accreditation also gives consumers confidence about the legitimacy and quality of a tourism product.

All tourism businesses providing accommodation, attractions, tour, hire or transport must be accredited to benefit from our marketing program. This includes being listed on westernaustralia.com or the Experience WA smartphone app.

Tourism accreditation programs include:

The Australian Tourism Accreditation Program  is suitable for all business types and sizes. It provides businesses with the necessary tools and resources to ensure ongoing sustainability and best practice. The Tourism Accreditation 'tick' logo signifies quality assurance and the delivery of quality tourism experiences. The program is endorsed by the Tourism Council WA.

The STAR Rating Scheme is Australia's official accommodation accreditation program.   Managed by Star Ratings Australia, the scheme assesses accommodation ranging from hotels and motels, serviced apartments and self-catering properties, to hosted accommodation (B&Bs) and caravan-holiday parks.

The Visitor Centre Accreditation Program raises the standards of information services provided to visitors to the State.
