Accelerate the sustainable growth of tourism for the long-term benefit of Western Australia.
Tourism Western Australia is a statutory authority under the portfolio of the Minister for Tourism and is governed by a Board of Commissioners. Responsible for promoting Western Australia as an attractive holiday, event, convention and incentive travel destination, nationally and overseas, Tourism Western Australia enhances the tourism industry, infrastructure and product base.
Tourism WA has five divisions, each with a specific role in growing the development of tourism as an industry and increasing visitation to and length of stay in Western Australia.
Tourism Western Australia will achieve its vision through five major strategic objectives:
- Increase awareness, desire and visitation to Western Australia's iconic tourism experiences;
- Enhance visitor experiences;
- Grow regional tourism;
- Attract additional strategic public and private investment;
- Achieving recognition for the tourism industry as a leading economic and sustainable contributor to the state.

The Board of Tourism Western Australia consists of a Chairman and nine members. Responsible to the Minister for Tourism, the Board sets strategic direction, policy and administers the Western Australian Tourism Commission Act 1983.
Tourism WA Executive Management Team
The development of this Strategic Plan represents the combined efforts of the Tourism Western Australia board of commissioners and the staff from Tourism WA, with input from the tourism industry over a two-year period.
Industry Development and Visitor Servicing ensures product is in place for visitors to enjoy and that destination and product information services and booking facilities are provided throughout the state to enhance visitor experiences.
The Corporate and Business Services division provides support to other divisions within Tourism Western Australia and ensures compliance with legislative and government policy requirements and recognised accounting and management standards.
The Consumer Marketing division is responsible for building stronger positioning and brand awareness of Western Australia as a desirable holiday destination through the promotion of iconic tourism experiences.
The Trade Marketing division accelerates growth in the economic value of tourism throughout Western Australia.
EventsCorp is the events division of Tourism Western Australia and makes a significant contribution to Western Australia through event and business tourism each year.
