Tourism WA and Crown Resorts have forged a partnership to promote Perth, and Western Australia, to the world.

Crown Resorts launched its marketing campaign for the luxury Crown Towers hotel, which will open in Perth in early 2017, in Melbourne last night with support from Tourism WA.

More than 450 representatives of national and international travel operators were on hand to hear about Perth’s transformation into a modern, world-class city.

Tourism WA CEO Stephanie Buckland told the audience that it was an exciting time to be in Perth with the city undergoing a once-in-100-year transformation.

“Unprecedented investment in public and private infrastructure has seen an upgrade of Perth Airport and the road network around it,” Ms Buckland said.

“We have also had an explosion in the number of bars and restaurants opening, welcomed the redevelopment of several historic buildings into commercial and entertainment precincts and we’ve recently opened a new waterfront development Elizabeth Quay.

“In the next few years an additional 2,000 hotel rooms will open for business along with a 60,000-seat stadium, and Perth will also have new public spaces to link Perth and Northbridge cultural area as well as a new museum.”

Ms Buckland congratulated Crown for being a leader in the redevelopment of Perth.

“Crown has lead the way in the redevelopment of Perth spending almost $700 million on an overhaul of its casino and resort in Perth, including construction of the new six-star hotel.

“Tourism WA is proud to partner with Crown in promoting Perth as a desirable travel destination, particularly to the domestic and Asian markets.”

Ms Buckland said Tourism WA and Crown had recently collaborated on the successful bid for the 2016 trade show Corroboree Asia, which will be held in Perth in September.
